tia® Driver & Waveguide
The tia® driver features a direct-radiating structure that eliminates the traditional sound tube, enhancing the delicacy of high frequencies. By minimizing damping and distortion, and combining a custom waveguide system, it delivers airy, detailed highs and a deep sense of space.

Balanced Armature (BA) Drivers
Mid and upper-mid frequencies are powered by six and one balanced armature drivers, respectively, for smooth transitions and rich texture. Vocals and instruments are rendered with warmth and clarity, creating a natural, well-balanced soundstage.

TRUE ISOBARIC Dual Dynamic Driver
This structure uses two dynamic drivers perfectly synchronized within an acoustically neutral coupling chamber, allowing precise bass control. The design delivers deep, dense, and impactful bass, surpassing the capabilities of conventional IEMs.

A patented design minimizing resonance and distortion for clear, vivid sound. The tia system—comprising the tia driver, single-bore design, and acoustic chamber—captures the pure essence of sound.

APEX (Air Pressure Exchange)
This patented venting system naturally releases pressure from the sealed ear canal while maintaining excellent noise isolation, reducing listening fatigue during extended sessions and providing a wider, more realistic soundstage. The XIO includes a redesigned m15 apex module with DLC-coated 904L stainless steel, an exclusive solution for this model.

LID (Linear Impedance Design)
Patented circuitry compensates for nonlinear resistance between drivers, ensuring consistent sound quality regardless of the source device’s output impedance. This provides a stable sound signature and accurate frequency response at all times.

The XIO exterior is crafted as an “audio art piece,” combining visual elegance with tactile luxury. Its robust shell is precision-machined from 904L stainless steel, a material harder and more challenging than standard stainless steel, and finished with a black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating for a premium texture. The faceplate reflects Astell&Kern’s design heritage, with a three-dimensional presence, deep shading, and delicate reflections.
