The Dan D’Agostino Momentum M400 MxV Monoblock Amplifier represents a significant evolution in high-end power amplification, delivering immense power with exquisite musicality. This Class A/B monoblock outputs 400 W into 8 Ω, doubling to an astonishing 1,600 W into 2 Ω, asserting absolute control over any loudspeaker. Its core is a discrete, balanced, and direct-coupled signal path operating with no global negative feedback, ensuring pristine linearity and transparency.
The MxV iteration features new, more powerful output transistors and a doubled complement of driver transistors, enhancing dynamic capability. A robust 1,800 VA toroidal transformer and 60,000 μF of capacitance underpin its substantial power supply. Iconic copper heatsinks, refined for superior thermal transfer and supporting extended Class A operation, along with “Super Rail” technology, contribute to its exceptional performance. Housed in a striking copper and aluminum chassis with a signature power meter, the M400 MxV provides unparalleled dynamics, transparency, and holographic imaging, defining reference-level audio.
Features
A critical element of any amplifier output stage is circuitry known as the driver section. In the new Momentum M400 MxV, this stage is a fully complementary design. Individual transistors are employed for the positive and negative halves of the musical signal. This nearly doubles the current drive necessary to maximize the enhanced output stage that follows. The new output stage takes this increased drive to boost the open loop gain by the same factor of two. The result is a sound that is more authoritative, richer, and more expansive.

Each Momentum M400 MxV monoblock amplifier is hand-built and individually tested in D’Agostino’s Arizona factory by our team of technicians and craftsmen.
Upgrading to the MxV performance
The new Momentum M400 MxV employs the same chassis as previous Momentum amplifiers. All generations of Momentum Mono amplifiers can be upgraded to the Momentum M400 MxV performance level. All electrical enhancements are included in the upgrade while the original metalwork is retained. Original Momentum amplifiers receive a new 400 Watt meter plate reflecting the power output increase included in the upgrade. Momentum M400 units already have this power increase and meter.
