Intelligent Energy Optimization and Refined Guestroom Hospitality
The Smart Laffey Hotel RFID / Mifare Keycard Energy-Saving Switch & Outdoor Service Signage Series is engineered to meet the operational demands of luxury hotels, boutique resorts, and modern commercial apartments. By ensuring that main lighting, television power, and air conditioning circuits engage only when an authorized guest keycard is present, the series reduces unnecessary HVAC and electrical load overheads.
The system extends to the hotel corridor with matching outdoor capacitive touch panels featuring room numbering, capacitive capacitive doorbell triggers, and backlit status icons for Do Not Disturb (DND), Make Up Room (MUR), and Please Wait. When DND is selected by the guest inside the room, the outdoor touch doorbell automatically deactivates to prevent unwanted disturbance.
Key Features & Hospitality Infrastructure
- Encrypted IC Card Reading: Advanced Mifare variants decode room-specific sector data, ensuring only valid hotel keycards activate electrical power.
- Touch Capacitive Outdoor Signage: High-visibility LED backlit icons displaying room numbers and real-time room status to housekeepers.
- Safety Exit Power Delay: Built-in micro-controller maintains active power for 15–30 seconds after card removal, allowing safe departure from dark rooms.
- RCU System Integration: Low-voltage bus options (RS485/Dry Contact) send real-time room occupancy state directly to front-desk management software.
- High-Current Relay Output: Built-in 30A high-power relay safely manages inductive air conditioner startup loads and main lighting sub-circuits.
- Flame-Retardant Polymer Substructure: Built on UL94-V0 fire-retardant PC rear casing for safety and thermal isolation.

Installation & System Configuration Guidelines
System Setup Note: For Mifare encrypted models, supply a sample room keycard programmed by your hotel lock management software (e.g., VingCard, Salto, Dormakaba, Orbita) to factory-calibrate the frequency decoder prior to mass installation. Ensure high-voltage power lines feed through an appropriate main contactor or the built-in 30A relay module. Route low-voltage status signal wires separately from AC mains to prevent RCU communication cross-talk.
