The dCS Vivaldi Master Clock is the temporal heart of the flagship Vivaldi digital playback system, serving as an indispensable component for achieving ultimate audio fidelity. Engineered to generate ultra-high-precision, low-jitter Word Clock signals, it rigorously synchronizes all digital components—typically the Vivaldi DAC, Upsampler, and Transport—ensuring perfect timing alignment. This eliminates timing errors (jitter) that can compromise sound quality, leading to unparalleled clarity, focus, and naturalness in musical reproduction.
The Master Clock incorporates two independent, temperature-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXO), meticulously tuned for 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz related sample rates, providing astonishing accuracy and stability. With eight individually buffered BNC outputs, it can simultaneously clock numerous devices. For those seeking absolute precision, it offers inputs to lock to an external reference, such as a Rubidium atomic clock.
